Bizdom is a startup accelerator that provides seed funding and intense mentorship to entrepreneurs looking to launch and grow innovative tech-based startups in the downtown urban cores of Detroit and Cleveland.

Startups accepted into the program receive $25K in seed funding, intense mentorship, access to our extensive network and a collaborative workspace for 8% equity to the Bizdom non-profit fund.  Companies also have the opportunity to receive up to $100K convertible note. As a non-profit organization, we have a pay-it-forward model where we use all proceeds to fund future businesses in the cities of Detroit and Cleveland.

During the accelerator, we connect each startup with advisors and mentors specific to their industry and business.  We have direct access to: (1) the Rock Ventures Family of Companies in Sports, Entertainment, Gaming, Real Estate, Enterprise Software, and Digital Sales/Marketing (2) the many Fortune 500 Companies in the Midwest such as GM, Ford, Kellogg, and Dow Chemical, and (3)  the best designers, developers, marketing experts, finance experts, and law services in Michigan.

We have close relationships with investors in Michigan and Ohio, and have access to investors throughout the country.  Detroit Venture Partners and Ludlow Ventures provide mentorship to our startups in the accelerator, helping them prepare for our Demo Day.  At the end of the 3-month accelerator, the Bizdom Team works closely with each startup to secure follow-on funding.

Entrepreneurs are encouraged to attend Bizdom sponsored workshops, trainings, and classes produced by experts within the Rock Ventures Family of Companies and experienced successful entrepreneurs.  Topics may include web development, business negotiations, business law, business valuation & term sheets, and online marketing tactics.

Bizdom startups get to work in a very cool, collaborative workspace in the heart of downtown. Each team is provided with free workspace, wireless, tech support, office supplies, and conference rooms, all within walking distance of Detroit’s best tech entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs moving to Detroit or Cleveland will be connected with our partner organizations to help them find and discover housing, transportation, city navigation, restaurants, nightlife, entertainment, and other parts of our growing cities.
